THE MUNICIPALITY SIBOLGA
The municipality of Sibolga is one of the subdivisions in North Sumatra province. This region lies on the west coast of North Sumatra. It is the centre of North Sumatra regional development.
It is situated between 1º 44' North latitude with two lowland areas, namely Sibolga lowland and Sibolga archipelago covering a total area of about 1,027 hectares or 10.27 km.
It has borders:
· In the north with Central Tapanuli Regency
· In the east with Central Tapanuli Regency
· In the south with Central Tapanuli Regency
· In the west with the Indian Ocean.
Sibolga is a potential tourist location because of its natural beauty. It is also a central point for visitors going to Nias or to West Sumatra. As a central point on the west coast of North Sumatra, Sibolga has special attractions for tourists in terms of its historical background. wonderful natural beauty, lovely beaches, sea garden, green island and its wonderful food.
Moreover, the sight of the local fisherman going out to sea in the evening is very beautiful. Their boats are equipped with brightly coloured lamps to attract fish at night.
Apart from being a potential tourist spot, Sibolga also potential in the fishery sector. it was estimated that its sea can produce 289,936 tons of fish yearly, however, up until now only an average of 67,573,4 tons has been produced in a year.
Its highland regions also produce plantation, agricultural, and forest commodities. These are increasing every year. They have caused this regency to become a trading centre. Its seaport continues to expand.

3. Padang - Bukit Tinggi - Padang Sidempuan - Sibolga
B. Sea Transport: Jakarta - Padang - Gunung

C. Air Transportation:
1. Medan - Aek Godang - Pinang Sori -Sibolga
2. Batam - Pekan Baru - Pinang Sori -Sibolga
