Pulau- pulau Batu
Pulau-pulau Batu consists of several islands. Its capital City is Tello. It can be reached by boats in 4,5 hours from Teluk Dalam and 9 hours from Gunung Sitoli.
A small airport has been constructed here however, its operation has not been inaugurated.
There are a lot of sports activities which can be done on this island such as swimming, diving and snorkeling, its sea garden is rich in coral reefs and brightly coloured fish. If one likes an adventurous challenge he/she can try exploring caves, hunting in the forest on the island of Pini island and fishing in the ocean for its abundant fish.
In this unique island, particularly, in Bala, there are a huge number of monkeys to be found. In Lorang, its neighbouring area, there are also a lot of human shaped statues.
According to Nias legends these statues were made by a man who did not have any children. As a replacement, he created them and considered them as his.
