Medan is a center of cultural activities in North Sumatra. Therefore, music and various dances from each tribe can be seen in this city. The various cultural values can be clearly understood in the music and dances that are performed , such as, "Serampang 12 dance", Tor-Tor (Batak dance) and other folk dances. Popular bands perform regularly in some well-known hotels.
