There are other interesting activities for tourists. These range from activities within a 30 minute walk to a 3 day walk through the jungle from Bukit Lawang. The walk to the Bat Cave takes about 30 minutes, passing through rubber plantations along the river near Bukit Lawang.

The Bat Cave is a place for many kinds of bats and small animals which need a special environment. Since this cave is not part of the National Park, no legal guides or permits are required to go there. All you need to take along is a flashlight (torch).
