SPORTS
Football (soccer), tennis and badminton are popular sports in North Sumatra. Golf is usually for those of high level income, and position, like business men, and other very important people in the government. Tourists can also watch sports such as, stone jumping from Southern Nias (Teluk Dalam), and Solu Bolon (Great Canoe) racing from Toba. Some like Marjalekkat, Wrestling, Markonang, Magala, Marsitekka, are less popular, however, you can see them in cultural ceremonies. Surfing is a famous sport in Nias. In big hotels, you can have good sport facilities i.e., tennis courts, billiards, and even mini golf courses.
